Last Friday I made mashed potatoes for my grand daughters who loved these. I went to buy the browning sauce which I taught could be found in NTUC supermarket in East Point. Unlucky I couldn't find these. I went to buy in Cold Storage in Tampines. There are 2 types. I bought one with the chicken flavour. It was very easy to use. Twenty years ago , I learned it from one teacher. (Full set of Kentucky Fried Chicken) I hope to let the bloggers to cook these for their children. I mean the mashed potatoes.
Mashed Potatoes
1 kg. potatoes-peel off skin (supposed to be 1 kt. I changed it)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp aji no moto
12 oz water ( for me agak agak)
2 tsp pepper
3 tbsp nestle cream
Method:
1. Divide potatoes into 2, and boil it with the above seasonings except nestle cream till cooked.( I cut the potatoes into half and boil all together using Brastagi potatoes from Indonesia)
2. Later mashed it and add nestle cream.
Brown sauce:
5 tsp bisto-any flavour
16 oz water-boiled chicken
4 tbsp nestle cream
Method;
Mix the boiled chicken water and bisto well, and boil it till thick and add nestle cream.
I bought ready made bisto browning sauce which had instructions. I did it accordingly but you had to taste it because it was a bit salty, I add in water and it was just nice but I had forgotten to add in the nestle cream. I think if I had put in the nestle cream it won't be salty. On the whole, it was delicious.
These brought me another idea. I could made into something like bergedil with cheese filling, coated with breadcrumbs. I had forgotten to take the photos of the mashed potatoes. I used to take it with my handphone, but I had problems of loading it into the computer.
